I see the 520's for $120 going to pick one up Friday when I get paid if I don't get any offers.

I'm just going to run 2 tweeters and 2 3" mid range drivers off it.

I wouldn't say so. You get a different, reduced feature set and fewer models with the iON series, but the build quality is excellent. They've been proven to make rated power cleanly. I don't sell a ton of them, but when I need a smaller amplifier than the Phantom series I definitely go with an iON amp.

both make the same amount of power. Only thing separating them apart is the ION is more efficient with power, but is lacking crossover functions for an active setup Has a very flat neutral sound. Meanwhile the other has crossover functions but class AB technology is not as efficient with power but SQ Difference is most likely not even noticeable. my ION 520.4 served me real well.

if i wasn't holding it out for a friend I'd offer my ion for sale.

I was just referring to the OP trying to save 40 bucks by getting a used amp.... I do own a couple BK series amps.. Been VERY happy with!!!

I'm going to buy new tomorrow morning. Just hesitant because I don't need to buy that big of an amp to run 4 50RMS tweeters but I don't want to buy a small amp. I might want to amp something bigger in the future.

FUTURE PROOF i hear? get the ppi phantom 900.4, best of both worlds, small and loads of power! Just wait for budget to grow!
