PPI A200 & Rainbow Comps

Hey,

I recently purchased a PPI A200 to power a set of 6.5" comps (most likely Rainbow SLC Kicks). The amp is rated at 50 x 2 @ 4 ohms, but I've heard that the PPI Art series amps are underrated. Rainbow suggests that the SLC Kicks get 100w for nominal power handling. What's the realistic power output of the amp, if it is indeed underrated..... and if the A200 would be sufficient for, or underpower the Rainbows.

Thanks,

Joe

typical underating for Arts would be in the 30-40% excess range at least

Lots of people have gone with SLC's with say a diamond d3400.4 and ArcKar400.4 both rated for 50x 4(real life 70ish per) and they sound great.

Thanks 3.5Max6spd,

You've been a big help in explaining the Rainbow comps my newly acquired amp. This messageboard is a great asset towards car audiophile information, communication, and education.
