picked up a set of these speakers and was wondering

if a Punch 75 25 to life series would be to much for them

birth sheet says 212 rms per channel at 4 ohms

If so that would be about right, maybe a little much but i'm running mine 60-70 x 4 and i'd like to have a little more.

Even if it was 212 x 4 just set the gains conservatively..

That power rating is probably at 2ohm. These speakers are 4ohm so that amp will push them, but most give them between 120-150w a side. There are a lot of option for you if you have $175 to spend. Find something that will do at least 150x2 @ 4ohm and then set the gains correctly.

Right, but I don't think it is putting out enough. The amp is rated for 37.5x2 @ 4ohm, so I would guess that the 212rms is the total rms wattage that the amp can push (to all channels total @ 2 ohm) - meaning you won't have enough. Well, anything is enough, but you won't have the "sufficient" amount.

Well, I am going to recommend Kicker because that's what I have and that's is what I have had experience with. This would be a nice match with the RSd's. like I said there are many other amps out there that will do 150x2 @ 4ohm for $175, I am just throwing one option out there.

Yes, they did just build a lot of on-campus housing right next to the new stadium and there is a nice little downtown area (with an English Pub and Ron Jons Surf Shop, coming soon). It is however expensive. I personally live in a house about 10 minutes from campus and it is a mansion (3000 sq. ft. ~ $500,000) and I pay less than I did living in off campus student housing.

Oh and the partying is crazy, as you would expect at any college. Most people go out to local bars ($5 dollar cover and usually insane drink specials), and other (the rich) go downtown where cover ranges from $10-20 and drinks specials are, well they aren't. But going downtown is a lot of fun every once in a while. There are also a lot of house parties.

eh, a little out of his budget. I still can't believe that that 550.2 is bigger than the 750.1 (after seeing your install pics). I just found out that i get 75% off msrp Kicker gear. Woo!

$175 just for a two the channel, oh the possibility's. With that money I would buy me some old school art audio or us amps. Buy the 25 to life, can't go wrong and is hella underrated. Head room is good and if you want to upgrade comps later you should be set still. Read a lot of great reviews about the Rsd comps lately, I was going to buy a set to but, I running active so I bought some Mach 5 audio M's 6.5. I going to try to install them this weekend. I want to see how these stack against the pg's.
