So i have a Alpine 9847 headunit and im going to get a http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/506

A 7 inch indash touchscreen. Now the Alpine HU is hooked up to the factory wiring harness just like a normal car stereo would be. My question is...how to i power the touchscreen. Can i simply splice the power and remote turn on from the wiring harness connected to my Alpine headunit and use that to power this indash screen or is there some other trick that i need to know about. Thanks

I plan on hooking a mac mini up to it and i have the power for that all figured out i just need to find out how to power this monitor. Thanks

No, the remote wire is only capable of roughly 0.5 amps.

You can use the acc wire (usually red) going to the HU. That will turn the TV on whenever the car is on.

Or you could use a relay connected to the remote wire
