Powered Sub?

What is everyone's take on the powered subs compared to subs with the seperate amp? I have a 99 gmc ext. cab (full size ) Just bought a alpine cde-102 head unit. Have polk audio 6.5 coaxial in doors. Now I need a sub to put under rear seat. Dont want to rattle windows but I really enjoy a nice tight bass (full). Any suggestions? A 10" maybe, Dont ask how much I want to spend. Always willing to pay a little more for good sound. So I'm flexable on money.
