Powered Sub help

I'm new to these forums and new to car audio in general but hope for that to change. I just got my JVC KD-HDR60 from Crutchfield along with 2 pairs of Boston Acoustics S55 5 1/4", This cheap combo is giving me some killer mids but the lows aren't too great I just want a cheap fix for now as I'm entering college and don't have the most money right now. I was looking at the Sound Ordnance™ B-8P and figure it's only $120 which is definitely in my price range. Now my JVC reciever has 4 preamp outputs at 2.5 V, I'm not exactly sure if the sub preamp output is a L/R RCA or a single Female RCA. Also I'm wondering how the amp is powered what kind of wires am I going to be running?

Thanks for any help if any other info is needed let me know, Nick

The car is a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport

The amp is powered by a wire you must run to your battery. That is the + wire. The - wire should touch bare metal on the body. It will also have a remote wire hookup. This comes from your head unit. It is usually blue and white. If you go to walmart and buy a cheap wiring kit it will handle this powered sub and have everything you need for the connections listed before this sentence.

IF you only have a single rca hookup, just purchase a y adapter with 1 female end and 2 male ends.

Thanks! That helps a lot, I was concerned with the power issue, but that seems easy enough and I do know what you're talking about as to the blue wire, it had a little note on it saying that it was only to be used for a certain amount of volts I believe.

Thanks again, Nick
