powered 4 sound.

I'm going to add some input of my own.

While I am personally a money-saver and hard core DIYer, I think the people at P4S appealed to a different consumer. Many of us like to do our own thing, build our own enclosures, etc. They catered to a certain clientel and those people were happy to do buisness with them. They were in fact a business, and were trying to do what all businesses do, make profit. Some may not like their ethics, but in reality, the business world, they seemed to do well.

Let's take another example here.

We all here the many discussions over whether or not one wire is superior to another in terms of sonic characteristics. Many say, "copper is copper." Many others buy the expensive wire that the manufacturer claims to be superior to another. Does that make them shady or unethical?

exactly.. DIY board doesn't take kindly to anyone else doing the work.

"you coulda built the box for 20 bux!!!"

For one... not everyone has the tools needed to make a QUALITY box, and not everyone even has the facilities to do it. That being said, most people aren't DIY'rs and would rather spend more to know they are getting a GREAT box instead of fiddling around with something that may or may not work to the FULL potential.

To each his own... took me years to figure out the best way to do things - not everyone wants to spend that much time on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

shit at the shops around here they charge $250 for a one sub custom ported box, nothing specail

if those snail shell boxes performed as people say they do, they would be worth the money

exactly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can't put a price on performance... and alot of the time the difference between 75% performance and 100% performance costs a hell of alot more, but thats how it is.

which btw, I'm not exactly advocating the use of the snail shell boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes and no.

Are horns worth it in some applications? You bet. Like I mentioned before...it's the best way to maximize output and bass extension from a very low displacement driver.

But it might not be the best overall design for your install...only experimentation can determine that.

AHHH has anyone ever seen external ports like these?

yes I have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thats the loudest type R 15 box btw... the one on the site that does a 150.4 with 1550 watts... at a nice and low 44hz.

your box is loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That was the loudest street box design in the blazer, although the ports were above the seat line... 152.7 out of that with 1200/1300 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
