im looking into buying a pair of these from a friend but i cant find any info on how they do at .5ohm. so who has tried them at .5ohm? will they be stable daily and take the abuse of competition?

and before you ask, my electrical is pretty beefy. nothing to worry about on my end //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

I've seen them run .66 daily and they handle it fine. I clamped 2700 watts @ 2 ohm after rise in that particular vehicle. It managed to do 154.x db burps and go off playing music on the drive home.

The loudest guy in town uses them in his competition vehicles... He burps ~170 db with 4x 18" subs and 8 amps in a van, and he runs 160 db average on music over 30 seconds with 4x 18" subs and 4 amps in his truck. I don't know what they are wired to...

thank you, do you know how long he did that for?

im sure the other guy isnt at .5ohm. probably 1ohm coils with an amp on each coil. very impressive numbers! im just trying to bassrace 49.9 with my pair of 12"s. im only 1db away and im hoping doubling my power will do the trick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If it's a daily amp then why not just run it at 1 ohm like the factory spec says so you won't have to worry about it? The last thing you want is subbin' real hard to impress your friends then POOF
because i already have D1 coils. i cant run them at 1ohm and there is no way in hell im going to run them at 2ohm lol. im a competition guy and i know if i run each amp at 1ohm ill rise to 2.5ohm and get closer to 2000w. if i wire it to .5ohm ill rise to ~1.3ohm and get closer to 3700.this is why im asking if its stable at .5ohm, so i wont have it go "POOF" on me.

that answer your question?

i know of one of my teammates whos name is steve smith who runs the league know as teamnortheastspl and he had 4 of the xa5000s on 2 15s if i remember he said he was running them at .5 and they were great he hit some good numbers if you go to youtube and under search type supersonicelectronic it should bring up his vids or just do Team North East SPL - Home Page and you will find him on there well i hope this help you out man i run the 3000.1xa myself its wired to 1.2 ohms and plays great for me but good luck man later.

i passed on the powerbass amps. i got to test them and they had a heart beat lol. i could hear thumping coming from the subs. powerbass told me "you will have problems". so i decided not to take the chance with my money.
