So i drive a 1996 chevy s10 standard cab. Im just starting to get into speakers and etc.

Right now i have

2 4x6 Powerbass on the front dash and 2 6" Powerbass in the side door. ($250 maybe, nothing too special)

And then a sony aftermarket radio (Forget model name) ($300 maybe)

Since i have a standard cab, i dont really have much room behind my seat to add a big sub woofer.

And since its a small truck i dont even really need anything that big, i just want some harder bass drops.

I went into a stereo store and they recommend to me that i buy a bass tube or just a small subwoofer for behind my middle seat.

I dont know anyone that has one so i dont even know how good they are.

What do you guys think? I would prefer for a built in amp so i dont have to deal with too much wiring.

And what brand names would you recommend or sizes.

AutoTuba and TruckTuba

Check out the TruckTuba. I can attest to both the Auto Tuba and the TAT style AutoTuba and they are great, especially for the price. However, you'll have to wire everything.

EDIT: I ran mine off of a little Dual XPE 2700 400W Max amp. I think you buy them at Walmart actually. I know people will hate on it, but its honestly one of my favorite amps. 150W RMS (RMS Rating Bridged @ 4 Ohm) and the thing never even though about getting warm.

I have one of these that I can make you a pretty good deal on. I know it will fulfill your needs for some extra bass. Its a loaded enclose. Ported box with a JL 8w3v3 in it. I also have a small amp that would go perfect with this set up. Let me know if your interested

JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3 MicroSub™ slot-ported enclosure with one 8" W3v3 subwoofer at Crutchfield.com
