I can get one of these for $370. Its been used and seller says its in very good order and that he has played it down to .6 ohm regularly without missing a beat.

The thing is, I'm reluctant to buying it as I have used the search here and found a load of horror stories about components breaking of boards and more. I think he also said he has glued down some components or something like that but again, amp is good to go.

Do you think I should give it a go or not ???

Just spoke to the seller and this is what he said

"The components can fall of the board if they are vibrated off. Basically mounting any longboard amp to a vibrating surface can do that. the coils or other large components can break off.

I have tried at all time to keep these amps off vibrating surfaces and in my most recent system they where on a shelf.

The gluing was done to prevent the internal components vibrating and it has worked well"

What do you think to this. Should I still STAY AWAY ???

/head scratch/ i think you should just stay away. if the compnents never fell off, glue should've never been used. if they did fall off and he glued them back, then leave it alone

He said he has hot glued the components to stop any vibrations but I was then thinking to myself after he said that, that if a component needed to be changed, It would be a pain in the *** to remove and would probably rip the board apart as well ?

Sorry to bump peeps but any more input as Im very tempted but just need a bit more advise please before I take the plunge. thanx

just don't do it. for 370 you can check through the classifieds and find somone tryin to sell a good amp. or check ebay. you can catch 3000s online for like 400 new. somone was sellin a batch of 5 and they sold for like 350

Ok. I have decided DEFINATELY NOT. My instincs are telling me to stay away so I will do just that. Thanx.

What can i get for $400 with that kinda power (3000rms). I have a hifonics bxi 2608 and that slams but want to try something else

the newer ones dont have issues i dont think, my friend had one a long time ago and had this problem numerous times, mounting to his sub box at first, then not, but still happening.

i had one, and never had an issue.

i did like the amp though, got loud.

but i like my sundown 3000d's better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have a lot of experience with these amps, being that several of my teammates run them. They are good solid amps, but I don't recommend running much below 1 ohm for daily driving. Only one of my teammates has fried one, but it was his fault.
