What does it mean for the amplifier to be strapped?

strapped means to have 2 amps working together as one. Double the power but also at double the impedance load. Also, one amp works as the master and the other as slave, so one amp controls both

For example, if you have a Dual 2 ohm sub wired to 1 ohm, and put it on a pair of amps strapped, each one will see a 0.5ohm load.

yea, i knew i forgot something. The higher impedance is just a result of each amp's running impedance added up ( i hope that makes sense)

The Ma 802 is not a mono amp. Im pretty sure its unregulated too. So more juice you have behind it more it will put out. Now the thing they are saying about 18 volts Im thinking there are thinking about the MA 4000d amps. From what I have read here and on other forums both amps are hard on your electrcal system. I have had friends run both amps. Both were happy with what they were going for.
