Power wire question?

So my amp shut off and wouldnt turn on earlier today, so i decided to touch the ground and positive really fast to see if it was getting power and sure enough nothing. Checked the fuse and it wasnt fried. I am running 1000 watts through some off brand 4gauge and was wondering if i could of somehow burnt the wire or fried it in a spot so it wouldnt conduct power. I also checked my terminals and ground and everything was in tact.

check the terminals under the hood... it the rest of your car gettin power?

Everything was working on my car. I check under the hood and everything was attached tight.

DMM can tell you a little safer than touching negative and positive. Is the ground still tightly connected. Did one side of the positive fall out of the fuse holder? Check resistance of ground

next to my spare tire. I scratched the paint away then drilled a hole. and put a screw through it holding it down and the screw was still tight when i checked it

take the fuse out the power wire bro, some of them pop and they still look like they are connected. also MAKE SURE that what u have as a ground is actually a good ground with less then .1 resistance

Turns out the fuse was the problem. It looked good to me but was blown. Any suggestions for what size of fuse i should be using? Im running 1000 watts through some off brand 4 gauge right now.
