power wire and amp terminals

Is there an easy way to get all the strands of the wire neatly into the amp terminal? I"m talking about the amps that accept bare wire connections, getting the wire into the hole without mushing it is driving me crazy.

have you tried tinning the wire with electrical rosin core solder?

first of you best bet is to use a freshly stripped piece of wire.

I always use the largest size wire the amp will accept. I also use a fresh stripped piece, and it definitely helps, but still quite tedious to try to get all the strands to go in straight. I'll try the tinning idea next time. Any other tips/techniques to save time in the future?

I usually trim a little wire off around the edge if I'm having a hard time with it.
