Why is that?

Im running a 2000w AB sub amp and a 600w 4ch. I have a 200a alt, big 3 0awg, Yellow Top front and Kinetik 2k rear.

BUT, when I roll my windows up and they reach the top, I can see all my instrument lights dim.

Are the window motors really drawing THAT much current? Can anyone explain this?

If this is your car 2004 Impala SS. Then yes GM window motors do draw alot of amps. When they are good and going bad. If you know a GM mechanic. Ask him how many window regulators has he replaced then ask how many motors he has done. I myself havent done alot of motors. I got like 20 of them good motors too. Those motors just snap the metal cable with ease. Seen them snap the cable with the window frozen up in the winter.

There are probably alot of weak grounds and what not throughout the stock electrical system. Think of all the 16 or 18 gauge grounds existing.

I have the same issue in my crown vic, whenever i would have the power windows moving I could see dimming, but powering my amps was always less.

I have had to replace the motors, but their such garbage, I had it replaced last summer, and the line already snapped in the new one by this fall. So it made it one year working then died.
