I've seen a couple threads of people posting Power Wheel builds and thought I'd share mine. There seems to be some interest in modifying these things so I'm hoping to get more ideas for my next one. This is my first attempt and I wanted to keep things simple. Feel free to post your builds here or link to your build thread.
Mods:
Sony CDX F5700 (40.00 ebay)
Boss 6.5 3 way coax ($17.00 Amazon specials)
LED fog/headlights
LED component board taillights
LED strip underbody lighting
concealed FM antenna
horn mod
custom gunmetal rims and disk brakes (painted)
5ah 12v AGM axillary battery
stock drive system
I wanted to keep the drive system stock and untouched for reliability. All the lighting and sound equipment was added to an axillary 5 amp hour AGM battery, fused and switched. This way if the car is left on, only the add on's die and the car is still drivable. The stock battery can still be charged by the stock charger but I also made adapters to be able to use a schumacher charger that I use for other things. starting the wiring layout
let there be light
not too bright but look good in the dark. have some oznium leds on the bench ready to go
love using barrier strips with jumpers. ran one pos and one neg and ran all accessories off them
speaker work in the door. cordless dremel ftw
bought these because they were red, the fit is perfect, the sound...they're red!
rear underbody LED strip and aux charge port
basic work done, cleaning up the wiring and finishing the details
the switches in the center vents control the lights and undebody LEDs, red LED toggle switch left of the steering wheel turn all aux on and off.
