Power to amp

For some reason one of my amps work just fine with the remote wire hooked up to it but when I hook it up to the other amp, the light comes on but will only work when I hook up the power from my distribution block up to the remote wire then to the amp, or a wire from the batcap to the remote wire then to the amp. Its actin like the remote wire isn't even there. Seems like the amp needs more power to the remote terminal on my amp for some reason. I have a hifonics crunch bmx2250 and the other amp is just a new version of the same amp but is now in the powerzone series. Exact same specs. The BMX2250 is the amp thats having the trouble. Each amp is pushing their own audiobahn alum12q subs. Everything was working just fine until one day my system just sounded a lot lower than it use to. It seems the more power I put onto the remote terminal the louder it gets. I was thinkin maybe the remote was pinched somewhere but it use to work before and the other amp works with just the remote wire by itself. If you experts could help that'll be GREAT!!
