i am running my audio system (subs n speakers)in my room not in the car. therefore need a power supply. does anyone know a good 1 atall. and what sort of amp does it need 2 be is it around 30A. how long would a car battery last if it was in my room running a subs n speakers??

thanks for anyhelp

I would steer clear of using a regular car battery in home. It's an explosion risk because of the hydrogen gas, and since it's not sealed, if it ever tips over, you now have an acid leak...use a sealed lead acid (a "gel cell") or don't do it.

Astron (http://www.astroncorp.com) makes one of the best 12VDC bench supplies out there, but don't expect to run your entire system off of it. It's cheaper to buy actual home audio gear.

yes...buy home gear...its cheaper and more reliable...but if u really want the car audio setup in ur room then u need a good battery...and a good battery charger...i doubt if it would be suitable to use a converter...cause most of them reduce current output a little but there are exceptions....but its ur choice to make...
