Power problems....help please!!!

Hi, I recently bought a sony cdx gt300 head unit which I received today.

I tried installing it today and there's a problem. There is power going to the head unit, I think because i can hear something inside making the noise as if i was ejecting a CD..sort of. but the head unit displays nothing and doesnt illuminate at all as if there is no power goin to it. I have tried all 3 power wire configurations with no result. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Check the remote turn on lead to be sure it's getting power. Some head units will power things like a clock or ejecting a cd even with the ignition turned off.

I'd also check the ground. Probably not the issue but worth a look anyway.
