Power problem

My car is an 97 Honda Accord. I am running 2 Bass Mekaniks 12s by a JBL 1200.1. I am only using a stinger one farad cap right now. My headlights still dim hardcore under hard play and my amp will cut out once in a while for a fraction of a second. Oh ya......my other amp is an RF 600.4. What do you guys recommened? u dont have to get a new alternator, just get the diodes replaced in the old one. i think most autoshops will do that for about $100 or less if u can talk em down.

I think jmac is right........get a higher output alternator.....

unless vette can explain what he knows that we should know..........

vette, what would replacing the diodes do for the alternator anyways?.....more amps?

I also agree with crispy highs and jmac. Get an alternator with enough power(amps) and if you want to be safe, check your gauge of power/grounds and if you plan on more amps another cap wouldn't hurt. If you don't have a distribution block/fuse holder, those help out too. It's not about how much power but how you distribute it. What do you guys think?
