power needs

hey guys,

i just recently upp'ed my system to 1000 total watts.. and i seroiusly do notice the need for more power on my honda accord 94..

so i was talkin' to my friend and doing a lil searching here and there..

should i get a high output alternator or a 1+ farad capacitor? im lookin' at maybe the lightning audio lsd10dt w/ the distribution block..

what are the pro's and cons to each? in terms of price..they're about the same (low 100's)... seems like the alternator gives more constant power.. but the cap provides clean bursts at really low noise levels and high voltages?

I would go with the new alternator. That will add to your cars power while a cap will just make it seem like you did.

i wouldnt even consider putting in a cap if the two are the same price. Actaully i wouldnt spend my money on a cap at all. how many amps would this alternator be?

i've gotten a few quotes from various places..

the local place is offering a 110 amp alt for 130... one place online was offering a 165 amp alt for 230.. and another place selling a 150 amp alt for 180...

i think the 110 for my 130 shhhhould be good enough..im driving 1000 watts right now..

juss wonderin'.. how come it seems like ppls are dissin' caps so much?

they are useless when you have a sufficient alternator...

yeah..i kinda see the redundancy in that..

then why are caps even an issue or worthwhile product? especially when im paying just about the same for a new alternator?

only benefit i can see is that its applicable to any other car..so if i change cars..i can move my cap also...

are there any pros to caps at all?
