Power needs of fi Q vs. RL-p

I need to sell the Type-X in my Silverado because I cannot come up with a box that suits my needs to be unobtrusive...

I am running a Zapco 1100.1, and wish to continue using that amp on the next sub setup.

I have found the plans for a box for dual 12's that fits my taste, but I must buy new subs because my rl-p and Type-X are both dual 4 ohm subs...The Zapco 1100.1 likes to run at 2 ohms.

Which brings me to the point: Will the fi-Q 12's be happy with ~600 watts rms each? Or at this particular power would a pair of rl-p 12's be happier?

I forgot to mention that each sub will have 1.42 ft^3 before sub displacement, so that should lessen the power needs slightly....

may I ask why you want to run dual 12's?

you said you want the enclosure to be unobtrusive, why not run a single 12" or 15"

in that case the Q would be perfect

I wish that I could be truly happy with one 12" sub as I initially planned, but I'm just not...

I should add that the "unobtrusive" comment has to due with floor space for rear seat passengers in my Silverado... I do not want to run subs that require mounting depths so deep that I have to protrude the driver over two inches past the lip of the seat.

That's a pretty bold statement right there... You must really enjoy your Q.

I'll accept your opinion graciously, however, can you substansiate this claim?

I can see it being feasible on the power side: One Q @1100 watts vs. Two RL-p's @550 watts each, but we haven't discussed any other variables thereof.

Biggest problem with ported is that the box needs to be a fair amount larger.

With that power and space I'd run either a Q ported, Rlp ported, or a pair of RLp's sealed. I am curious as the space as that is a lot to fit under a Silvy seat without a big lift.

edit: Since you have the Rlp already why not put it in a ported box and see
