power needed for either amp

ok so I have a dd 9518 Im putting together. I don't know what amp to get Im stuck between sq2200 or 3500 if I can find one cheap.. so which one would I need that would push the sub to the max and what power upgrades do I need. as of now I have NOTHING>...everything is getting pulled out of the truck in about 2 week. my ALT is 130+. and I plan on getting some sky high cables ..will my alt enough with a xs d3100 or 3400

What imp will you be running the amp at? .5ohm on the 2200 you'll need a few batts for sure, same with 1ohm on the 3500. HO alt would help either set up obviously...

well inm not sure what to run and how to run it...the sub is rated at 1500-2000 but I know it can handle more. not sure if it can take 3k or how it will sound with 2k...if I don't need the sq3500 I wont get it...but it would always be nice to have the power.....what if I went with the 2200 and use the other money for an alt?
