power need info

need info on power have 98 accord looking to put in higher alternator for ampriage but dont know if the factory alterator is connected to the computer. And if so what effect does has on the if I change it the car.need info on where to buy new alternator and if it's connected to the computer I have a sony 800w 4channel for comp speaker pok, have 1 rockfordfostgate 700s for both 12HE2 have two any info will be helpful

simplily call honda, and talk to their electrical man, or even smarter go down to a performance shop and ask them to get you a better alt. TELL THEM WHAT IT IS FOR, because they could find one that is better suited for your amperage needs.

i have the sony 800w 4 chan

and i just got the 700s fosgate for my 2 he2 12's

i think the sony 1000w was louder, but the fosgate is defanatly cleaner

no fastgate definitely sound louder and stronger cleaner with out a dought. I have a seal box it hits harder than ported box my EQ signal is clean way pasted 20 on the dail and it go's up to 38 I never put it past 21 to loud I have a passive EQ

You dont need to worry about your computer in your car , By replacing you alternator with a higher amp alt wont hurt anything , your not increasing voltage just amperage , A 98 shpould have a pretty good amp raiting anyway , Probably 80-90 amp , You could go higher but really dont see the need , If you want more simply go to a local starter alternator rebuilder and have them beef it up , Should be a lot cheaper than buying a new one !!
