power issue

alright folks I need some help....

I have an alpine MRD-M1005 pushing 2 12" JL12w3v2 and running 500 at 4ohm....when i go around 1/2 volume the amp will shut off and say "current". I have wired the big 3 in 1/0 and have 4 gauge power wire and 1/0 ground (grounded well bolt through wheelwell). Any idea on what to do?

odd alt and battery are less than 10 months old....i guess the batter it is. what kind of battery should i go with?
