Power Help

I just had to buy a new alternator for my 1993 Ford probe GT, because my system toasted my old one...and now I'm not wanting to have this one go out on me too. I had 2 Xplod amps, and 2 12" Xplod subs, hooked up to 2 batteries, then I gave one amp to my brother, and then I unhooked my front battery(has more cca, than front), and it has better power now, and I turned down my amp but still my battery meter is on the low all the time still...any way to help me fix this? Thank you.

This is how my system is now, I re did it lastnight...I have my front battery wired(fused) to my amp, I cut out everything and it's running 6ga. so there's no cap, nor rear battery anymore. I went driving to see how it did, and it's still way too much power, I don't understand how it still cannot perform correctly.

try upgrading the big 3

1- run a new wire (4ga or larger) from the alt. + to the battery +

2- run a new wire of the same size from the battery - to the body of the car

3- run a new wire from the body of the car to some where on the motor

Well, I upgraded to 4 ga. to ground my battery better, and it helped my power problem a lot, but I still can't turn up my subs as much as they can go, I have them on 2, when they can go to 15.

just dooing the ground wont be enough, the battery + to the alt + is very important as well as the motor to body ground.

here is an example-- i have a stock 70amp alt in my bronco(1985) and i run a ppi a600.2(draws up to 60 amps) and a fosgate 500x(draws up to 40 amps). i did the big 3 upgrade with just 4 ga and even with the ac on i have no power issues at all. even cranking on it, my voltage never drops below 13.2v. befor you go any further, upgrade the other 2 wires.

I'm going to go get bigger gauge wire, and do all three, I have 6ga. on alt to the battery, and battery to ground, and chasis to motor. The 2 that I have is the number for my subs, my cd player allows me to turn it all the way to 15, but I'm only at 2, and it takes a lot of power.

change "body" to "frame"

I have figured a lot of the problem out so far. I re did a lot to see if anything was wrong. I wired my battery to my cap(fused) and my cap to my amp(positive), then I took a negative from my amp to my body, and in a different spot, I seperately grounded my cap. I put my cap back in, because my lights still dimmed, and this helped me significantly. I can't have it turned up quite as much as I like because I think that my battery is weak, but I hope to get a new one soon, and hopefully that will help it. I did the big 3 over, too. Any more thoughts would be appreciated.
