Power/Ground for bass controller

I have an MX-3 bass controller I need to hook up and was wondering if it's ok to get power and ground from the sub amp? So in other words tap into my power and ground terminals on the amp.

If you do that, it will always be on, even when your car is parked.

Ignition wiring, or take your plan and add a relay controlled by the HU remote turn on.

He has the factory head unit so,you might need to find an ignition wire.
