Power cable routing (08 Civic)

Where are you guys running power cables from the battery through the firewall on the newer model civics? Looks like a real PITA!

Look for a blank black rubber grommet if you can find one and find were it comes threw at that is were i routed mine in a 99 Honda civic. If you can not find one I routed mine threw a existing grommet very carefully stretch the opening in the grommet and slide the wire threw than after that is done to make sure i did not ruin the integrity of the grommet I use silicone caulk to seal it up.

I don't see a lot of options, as the firewall is recessed way back under the cowl and hard to reach. I was hoping someone with this model car had found an "easy" way, but there may not be one!

i just drilled two holes in my drivers floor board behind the kick panel in my 08 Civic Hybrid....then I pushed the wires through from the inside of the car and fished them up from under the hood....I ran a 4 ga Pos and gnd...took every bit of 5 minutes

yeah sounds like instead of going right through the firewall into the engine compartment he drilled in the ground used gromets and cam UP into the engine compartment.

there is a hole already in the firewell but you can only fit 4 guage in there. there is a grommet in the hole so just pull it out and run it through there if its 4 guage. otherwise i had to drill a hole to run my 0 guage through. its not very hard to drill a hole either. oh ya and a a close hanger is a must because there is no way you are gonna fit your had through the engine compartment to reach the hole.

had a06 civic and i think there was a hole in the driver side floor. my 08 fit i had to make the hole bigger to make two runs of 1/0

there is a hole on the drivers side firewall but it isnt big enough to fit 0 guage. so either way you need to drill.

Drilled a hole behind the drivers side kick panel, where the hood release cable runs. Wires ran up inside the framerail right to the battery.....very clean and not too bad once I figured out where to put it.
