You NEED a fuse hold on the input to your rear battery, so just do that and use a piece from the fuseholder to the battery to extend it.

Jackass, they weren't saying to run new wire, they were saying to fuse that, and run the ~2' of wire from the fuse.

Run 4g for power (or 1/0 if you can). There is no downside to bigger wire, and you won't have to replace it if (when) you go bigger. Speaker wire...
