the Power Bass forum over on the teamssaudio forum should help you for that.
that's an awful answer. if he would have asked about soundsplinter, would you have sent him there? should re questions only be asked at sin since they have their own forum there? the nerve of some people coming to ca.comto ask about subs! not to mention, he's sure to get a more biased answer on the power base forum than in a general subs forum. i'm not trying to be a jerk, but i hope you see what i'm getting at.

now for my limited experience with power bass: i witnessed a side by side comparison at a local stereo shop that just started carrying power bass between a mtx 9500 15" and a pbx 10". the mtx was in the mtx factory ported box and the pbx was in a custom ported box made at the shop(don't know the dimensions on either). they both played a variety of soundwaves from 40-50hz off the same head unit and amp(@600watts i was told). now i'm not sure what ohm loads were on either or if they maybe messed with the intereior volume of the mtx box to change it's tuning, but the results seemed weird to me. they had a db meter strapped to the wall that read mid 130s for the pbx and high 120s for the mtx. not only that but the pbx just sounded like it was a "cleaner" sound to me. unfortunately that is my only experience with them so i can't give anymore testimony, but, i instantly fell in love with them. i would snap up a couple but they are going to be everywhere locally and i want to run something different(don't mind the jl audios in the sig...they're not too common around here and i'm switching to re soon(never seen them around here)). hopefully that helps somewhat even though i didn't compare with any of the subs you wanted to hear a comparrison with.

THe XXX has ALOT MORE LOW END than the PBX 15" i had. Although above 40hz the PBX knocks the living shit out of the XXX. Magnum is an EXTREMELY efficient sub but not as efficient as the PBX, the Magnum gets close to as loud, but has a bit better low end.

I've never owned any incriminator audio stuff so i cannot comment, but i bet the PBX is WAY louder even though they are known for loud subs. THe PBX is the loudest sub i've ever owned. Tune it around 28hz it needs more in the low 30's, if you tune that low it should be a nearly flat response down to 30hz in-car. With rock, metal, etc. OMG that sub is just incredible.

Overall though i'd take a Magnum D2 15" sealed over the rest. Thats one of the funnest subs i've owned, yet still has incredible SQ. And ported OMFG that sub just slams with rap and rock.

thanks folks. yep, the mags do indeed rock. they are my favourite all time driver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

however, as far as a PBX being louder than a DP? good luck to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

in my testing alone i found the DP to be louder by just over 1dB in the same box, with the same amp, same car, on the TermLab than the Magnum.....which in itself is **** loud too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

a single PBX extreme 15" hit 166db or somewhere around that last year i think and won a world record by a huge margin. Its a big time SPL sub, its made for SPL.

The Magnum gets loud, but is more of an SQL sub, its loud but not world record breaking SPL loud.

You can tell by the response of the PBX 15" that it was designed to be an SPL sub, unless you tune low it has hardly anything under 40hz. Magnum 15" is also lacking a bit in low 30's so to say it has alot more low end than the PBX means the PBX has like NO low end.

Nate Musnon did a 170 with a singel DD9510 a while back. So? My example is comparable in that testing on Mag vs. DP vs. RE vs. Other brands were all done in the same car, same amp, same box on the TermLab. Its a daily driver install not a competition install, which is what you're referring to. A lot of well installed subs could do a 160+ in a trick install, but its what it does on a daily basis that counts for me.

i agree but the PBX is louder than the Magnum by a long shot. I have no clue what your setup was, but it doesn't sound like it could have possibly have been in an obtimum enclosure for the PBX. I had both in the same enclosure too and the PBX outdid the magum by a huge margin with the same power.

Did you do any in-depth testing on a meter...?

Since PB's website sucks and they list very few actual woofer parameters, I can't come to a conclusion, displacement wise...
