hmm..see, that is what I dont know!! I need to order tomorrow, but I am not sure what to get...it will be in my GFs car, I want there to be decent SPL with decent SQ...

My vote goes for the duel 10's definately. They will hit the lower notes with much more authority.

What about one ported 10? Same overall output, half the space, half the amplifier requirements...

I already have the amp...I was just trying to match something with it, my only two real choices were the ones I already said...maybe I can get a new amp?

why does everybody think that the 10's would get louder? they have the same rms rating as the 8's, but the 8's are ported... i guess it just doesn't make much sense to me.

I suggested it because it would do its job better, 10's generally handle lower notes with better authority, since this is a subwoofer, its job is to reproduce low notes. Therefore, I would go for the 10's. Just my 2cents

I've had a pair of tens, sealed in my truck (Infinity References) and my last setup with a pair of RE8s ported got much louder and lower.
