Power Acoustik Anyone?

Pa is a decent brand. But, They are rated on 16v as far as I know. Expect about half of the rated RMS. Maybe a little more.
i just bought the BMAF 4000/D. sounds bad *** but not as loud as some hifonics 1600 ive heard. and Linkz is right, they ARE over rated. might be correct rating with 16 volts, but that isnt what the avg. car is putting out. it also does run warm, but def. not hot.

also, always keep in mind this formula: for every 1000watt RMS, the amp's fuses should total 90-100 amps. my BMAF comes with 120 amps for its fuse, indicating that the rms would only really be around 1200-1300 watts.

the hifonics bxi1608 has a total of 160 amps for its fuse... go figure its true rms from there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i only bought it cuz i didnt want to spend over $200 for an amp, and i got mine for $170. overall ild have to agree with everyone else, they are a great budget amp

150A*14.4V=2160W, assuming 100% efficiency

(2000/.9)/14.4=154.3A, assuming 90% efficiency

(2000/.8)/14.4=173.6A, assuming 80% efficiency

A (Bussmann) 30A ATC fuse will allow an average of 85A for 1 second constant before melting.

A (Bussmann) 30A ATC fuse will allow an average of 52A for 10 second constant before melting.

A (Bussmann) 30A ATC fuse will allow an average of 45A for 100 second constant before melting.

Assuming a 2kW has 5 30A ATC fuses, that would mean it would allow... Okay, if you don't get the point, you need to just go... *Sigh.* People... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

Edit: I am not saying PAs can do rated, I'm just saying that this guy learn his stuff at church, and believes whatever he hears. Get the fu ck out of here so we don't have more people like you spreading this information to muck up the forums.
