possible wiring method???

well, i just purchased a 2ohm dvc alpine 15" type R and an amp that has a rated RMS of 900w@4ohms, 1300w@2ohms, and 1700w@1ohm. when i purchased it i did not realize that a wired 2ohm subwoofer puts a 4ohm load on the amp i thought it would be 2ohms, so i believe the sub is being underpowered. Is there ANY wiring method that will change it to a 2ohm load, or am i gonna hafta send the sub back n get the dvc 4ohm version, please any sugg. would be great thnx.

just wire it in parallel to 1 ohm..

you can wire it to 1 ohm and give it 1700 watts lol

wire to 1 ohm like was said just be very careful with your gain or you will have one toasted type r

ok 4 sho, ill wire it at 1 ohm n just adjust the gain carefully. But one last thing, wont i be able to turn the gain all the way up considering thats only 1700w of the 2000w max on the sub??

set the gains a tad lower and itll be happy

1700w continuous will destroy that sub, ive seen type r's take 900w daily enclosure is also going to come into effect,

I've seen a 15" Type R take 1500WRMS daily. If you're conservative with the gains you SHOULD be fine, but I have no personal experience with them.

yes its exact dimesnsion and is a ported box.

yeah just gain it down you will be straight. my buddy was running 2 of them each with 2400 daily and they were fine.
