So I know everyone says you can't run active with rear with an 80 prs but I found a mechless receiver that might work and wanted to I see what the forum experts thought
JVC KD-X33MBS Digital media receiver for Jeep, powersports, or marine applications (does not play CDs) at Crutchfield.com
That is the receiver, the jvc kd-x33mbs. my 4 channel would be the ppi 900.4 and that amp is known to support active setup. That said, the receiver has three preouts (front, rear, sub). However the 2way crossover settings show there is control of freequency and slope and gain for the tweeter, front, rear, and sub. I inquired further and it was confirmed that there is x'over control for all four vs the standard three on many receivers (front/rear/sub).
With this said and if this info was accurate, could I run tweeters off the the deck and have function to control the crossover frequencies and then use the four channel to power mids in the front (1&2) and mid woofers in the back (3/4) while a separate sub amp powered my sub stage.
Any feedback is appreciated! I know the receiver I'm referencing may not be the ultimate receiver but I have a shallow install space to work with and this is the only one that has 4v Preouts
And a decent eq bands.
Thanks,
Bc
