POS Alpine 9855...

first off it seems to have no output to the subwoofer rcas.... maybe all the rcas..... AND it ****ing doesn't have a functioning glide touch bar....pressing it down doesn't even do anything.... and the func. button doesn't work either.... anyone ever blown this pos???

so anyway i'm just posting because i'm PISSED and going to have to go to best buy to hope it still has a warrenty or some shit.... >

uhhhh yeah.... the glide touch and the glide touch butten and the func. button.... i got this HU brand new and after a year it has ****ed up....

If you didnt get the Service Plan you may have to call alpine direct. I own the same HU and this is the first time in over 2 years I heard of anything failing (on this forum anyway)

Have you tried to reset the unit?

are you sure you havent done anything to the unit? i mean alpines feature degraded but i dont see their products being unreliable in terms of people mentioning it.

Everyone has known for a long time that the 9855 is buggy.

I don't think I have ever heard of many problems with the 9855... Other than glide touch and that **** Alpine sound....

I have had my 9855 for about 1.5 years...Still no real problems. Hope you get yours fixed man.

When I worked at Bestbuy we returned alot of the 9855's. I bought one anyway and I took it back after 2 weeks cause the glide touch didn't work most of the time and it got hot as hell. Got a Pioneer p80mp and haven't had a problem since.

yeah i hate this thing now... but i can finally use the stupid glide touch.... i have to pull the glide touch out and push it back it to use it....

i used to run the 9855 up until 2 wks ago, never given me any probs. i remember when they first came out, tons of them had probs ejecting cds. good luck getting it fixed.

Owned the 9853 which is pretty much the same thing, for about 2 years now. Never had a problems with it whatsoever.
