Porting Qeustion

From the end of the port to the side wall there is about an inch and a quarter for air to enter,,and the top peice of the port goes all the way over instead of leaving an inch and a quarter,, so does this mean the air that goes over the port has to come back down to enter since the top is enclosed at the end.....Wont this make the air think the port is slightly longer ?? Which will lower my tuning a bit?

EDIT: It was confusing I was in a hurry,, but its been tested and I love it
