I have 2 15" kicker L7 subs in a ported box and was wondering if stuffing them in a bandpass box would make them louder?
You cant just "stuff" some subs in a bandpass and get good results and therefore my guess is you may be thinking about getting prefab, if so definitely not a good ideaI have 2 15" kicker L7 subs in a ported box and was wondering if stuffing them in a bandpass box would make them louder?
What exactly is the ported box you have now? was it custom built for the subs? or was it purchased preassembled? do you have any specs on the box at all?I don't know much about this stuff. I just want them to be as loud as possible. The box I'm using now looks scabby and I want to upgrade. I've also been told blow thru would be a good idea
alright but what info do you have on the enclosure the subs are currently in? thats where i can start from to give you suggestions to get louder. A bandpass box wont necessarily make you louder if a more optimal ported box than the one your currently using could be builtI'm running a Kicker ZX2500.1 amp 0 guage power/ ground in a 1989 chevy 1500 ext. Cab with the back seats taken out.
alright that should help me see what you have going onI got it built when I bought the subs. Its a few inches from the top of the seats, touches the seats and the back of the cab and sits on the floor. I'll post a picture when I get home
yea you need some upgraded electrical to be able to run that amp for sure. A high output alternator, as well as some nice extra batteries are important as well as upgrading the 3 main current carrying conductors under your hood. (this is called the big three upgrade)I think there alright I can't really crank them up they killed my alternator. I'm still working on getting them the power they need
