I do have build pics as well. Let me know if there are any Q's!

Nice finish on that box...I am in need of a new center channel, hows this one sound?

I think I built the smaller single Mid/Tweet version of those speakers...uses dayton speakers right?

Thanks!

Yeah there is a Tritrix TM version that I may build for surrounds.

Haven't been able to give much listening time but the little I have is quite impressive. hoping to get some time in this week with it and screw around with the settings on my receiver to tune it in. Has an incredible freq response for the drivers.....

Thanks J!

Brian, I want to say it would cost you about $200 said and done for a pair maybe? This one probably cost me $200 said and done with the paint and binding posts yada yada yada.

Here is the link to the designer's page.

PE sells the equipment and kits for these as well. They even have knockdown cabinets for the TL version......

yeah the MT version I built has a great frequency response...I couldn't believe that the 5.25" mid could play so low. I really don't even need to use my sub for music. But for movies it is definitely on.

I am planing on building the the TL MTMs over the summer, and moving the MTs to surround duty. I might even try out that center channel.

What wood did you use? looks like a lot of sanding took place, nice job

I used 1/2" MDF but braced it REAL well since I didn't use 3/4". The baffle was 3/4". The hard wood is Red Oak and the Black is MDF.

I'm thinking of doing some surrounds as well that are the TM's over the summer.

Just watched Live Free or Die Hard. This center is awesome. Impact when needed, subtlety when needed, lots of detail, nice wide field, plenty of SPL, matches amazingly with the D8's.

This was an awesome choice for my center. If some designs are even better, I need to be exposed because I can't imagine that.

DIY FTMFW.

All done. Riser built and HT setup for the now final setup. I need to stain/paint the riser but will do that in about a month or so when I move. I just wanted this up and running and functional.

The riser is 3"x3" Oak I found for $1 a 12" piece in the scrap pile at HD and Birch leftover from a build.

Filler was basic Elmer's wood filler in the plastic tub.

Primer was Rustoleum Filler Primer.

Paint was Rustoleum 2X Coverage Gloss Black. (I think I like the Krylon product better, which I have used on other projects.)

And then I cleared with Rustoleum Crystal Clear Enamel, which I won't do again because it takes FOREVER for the stuff to dry. The last time I did paint I used Krylon Triple Thick Clear Glaze and think I liked that, BUT think that I will do like I did on my towers and get them auto cleared. Best clear that I have had done. Only problem is that you don't really have control, you know what I mean? I kept putting coat after coat on the speaker of clear, where if you tell a body shop, they are going to do what yousay and stop and then you have to pay more. I NEED to get a bigger compressor and then a HVLP or whatever it's called.......
