I have a 3.0 cu. ft. sealed enclosure that I want to port....

I want it tuned to 27-28 hz.

should I get a 3" or 4" diameter port?

what should be their length?

why do some people use two ports instead of one?

thanks

thanks for your help guys....

one more question............

will I be fine with one flared port with a diameter of 4" and a length of 13" ?

or

one flared port that is 3" by 6.5"?

thanks

ok i got a .5cuft sealed fiberglass pod with a 10" RE-SE, i will be running ~600w (with some overhead ~200w)

i dont know how to figure out the difference between round ports or square\rectangle ports

the12volt.com said this;

1" diamater (round port hole) + .5 cuft enclosure + 27hz = 5.075" port length

so i would get a 1" (inner dimension) PVC pipe cut it to 5.075" and then attach to my box? and i would get 27hz port?

Your box is WAY too smal to go ported, and if you did use a 1" port, you would get some crazy port noise.

ok thats what i wanted to hear =D

what do you suggest for a ported version of the SE 10"?

cuz that 1" diamater 5" long port sounded very fishy to me =P

rofl

15" subwoofer
Adire Tempest

Im using 300 watts RMS

3.0 cu. ft. enclosure

and I want it tuned to 27-28 hz.

thanks

click here for calculators that will complete the equation for you

get the specs for your box. find out how much room your willing to waste for your system (in your trunk? all of it?)

put the numbers in the box for VOLUME then use that number (should be suggested by the manufacturer in CUBIC FEET and a Hz number for the 'tuning' box- then put in the size of the port you are making.. then you get a few numbers.

this was made so we dont have to do it for you =P its quite simple.

in your case, its;

3 cubic feet

27 hertz

maybe a 4.5 inch diamater port=

16.3 inch long ROUND port 4.5 inches wide

REQ:

that was not my question

"will I be fine with one flared port with a diameter of 4" and a length of 13" ?

or

one flared port that is 3" by 6.5"?"

in other words....which size port would be better....and why

also....does it really matter if I decide to use one flared port instead of two?

thanks

You should be fine w/ a 4" round, 12" long port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif That's if you're only using 300 watts, though ... If you plan on upgrading the power input, I suggest you go with a larger port (probably slot port) ...

thanks man!!
