Dr. Enclosure
Hey guys,

Another enclosure build here. This time it's a ported enclosure for a 10". It's tuned to 32.5Hz with 25 sq inches of port area and 1.15 cubes.

It wasn't for anyone so I wasn't really thinking about how the sub would be mounted in the end (I was just looking for the specs to be right) so It turns out the 10 cant fit on the front face of the enclosure and will have to be mounted on the side. It isn't a huge deal in my eyes but I was kind of ticked when I actually sat down and looked at it (after I made the cuts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif)...but nonetheless it will work just fine.

Here are the pic-a-tures...

Gettin started..

Got some new clamps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif (jorgensen, baby //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif)

Cut out the 45 degree inserts...

Couldnt clamp the 45's in the corners with no space so I cut this piece which slid down and used the port-piece for support and forced the 45 degree insert into the corner untill the glue dried //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif..

Getting there, but we've been having power outages (southern ohio)...it's been really bad but specifically my neighborhood is the only one in the area with power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif...only lost power for 2 hours today, thankfully

The winds were insanity...knocked over a glass table on the deck and shattered it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif and a storage building's office's roof was blown completely off near-by //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...trees were downed everywhere and traffic lights working is rare //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...ugh

Why, thank ye //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And this should be finished tomorrow if we still have power and if I have time, and the port opening will be nice and rounded over all the way around once the top is on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Use sketchup and you won't have the mounting problem as you can see in scale what your enclosure will look like. It also saves time on doing the math to calculate the size of each panel.

The build looks great so far.

Thanks guys, and yea...sketch-up is usually what I make my enclosure designs on to get perspective with...but this one was all on paper that I sketched-up really quick.

what 10 is going in there?
y not just build the baffle out and still be able to mount the sub there?
Thats actually what I might be doing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif..and this isn't for any 10 in particular, but most of my enclosures I use the Fi Q as a reference if im not making them for a specific sub already..

And I wont be on for a while due to the storm that hit here, im without internet at my house and I have people staying there that I have to take care of...so I might not be on for a while //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...just a heads-up

(this means this box and other boxes are on hold for at least a couple days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif )

Alright, finally some progress on this guy...

I didnt get any pics of the top getting put on or anything between the last pics and this first pic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...but nothing exciting happened.

Just glued and clamped on the front double-baffle piece, rounded over the port opening, and chamfered the double-baffle (and cut the hole out)..

Here it is..
