ported box on small side of recommended

The sub im looking at has box requirements of 1.5-2cuft ported. i can squeak out room for 1.5. Will performance suffer using the smallest recommended ported box?

Nah, you'll be alright. More SPL!

If it's in the recommended size, you'll be fine. A lot of people even venture outside the limits of the manufacturers specs.

the box's peak will be more dramatic but generally a little higher. you will just need a tad bit more power and id recommend a 4inch aero to try and tame the peak but a 3 inch would suffice
