So I've been looking up ported boxes for two 12" type-r's. I was planning on using Mo Lester's design but most of his pictures are down so.. here goes.

I was thinking of tuning it to 33 hz, and i went to a calculator here: http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

and i got this:

does it look right? feedback please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I am powering the two type-r's with a Apline M1005 amp.

That calculator is flawed...it does not take into account driver displacment and the difference it makes in the final result could be substantial...

If you want to use an online calculator, the ONLY one I would recommend is subwoofer tools or something like that...

i cant find subwoofer tools online, could you provide a link?

i'm looking to tune my two type-r's at 33hz and 4 cu ft, so i need specs for the box. unless someone else have feedback on this, im looking for loudness yet not muddy at all.

u could just add the driver displacement in your self, build the box a tad bigger and tune a tad higher. adding in the driver will bring down volume theroyeticly making the port longer

man wich one of these box calculators can u trust?? i mean non off the free shit is even remotly consistant with each other, what about BBP, i have it and use, and it to differs from all the rest. i think ill figure it out the old fasion way, pencil and paper

I have never used it, but the subwoofer tools site is not that far off for a free, for everyone, basic, design, no work calc.

It basically makes estimates and rounds for them. So, if all you need to know is a close WxHxD and port lenght based on your volume and driver displacment you can get it and work from there.
