thats what rockford suggests..but i know people can build them were they sound really good and what not..and well if im going to have to pay ya know...like 80 online why not get a better sounding box from someone...who can build it perfect were the subs will get really loud with my brutus let me know....

if you can build me a box for my 4 door ford escort...

It has to be at least 4 cubic feet for the 2 of them, with 40 square inches of port(Slot port). I had my 1 in a 2cubic foot box tuned to 29hz. Let me tell you it sounded awsome. PM Jmac for like 10 bucks hell take the time out of his schedule to design you a box.

So...hmm you think those 2 hooked up to a brutus hifonics amp...bx1500d currently in the shop would be a good setup especially if they were in a box tuned like yours?...what do you think i would hit not looking for ground breaking just something that will get really loud...let me know

Well here is what I think. 4-5 cubes with 40-48 square inches of port tuned to 29-32hz. Depending on the music you listen to. If you build the box correctlly it will be hella loud. Plenty for a daily driver. I only had one and It was enough for my daily driver car. And yes the BX1500d will be a great match on those subs as long as you have the RFD2212's So you can run it 1ohm. Just keep the gain down, the amp is 1400-1500 and those subs RMS is 500. They can take more but don't need it.

If you still need a box designed then your going to have to put your max dimmensions and what type of music you listen to.

I'd go 4 cubes net tuned to 28-30. 3x12 port, maybe bigger if you want. Exact box I built for a friend's car and is brutally loud. Get James to make up a box plan for 10 bucks and you're good to go. I can get you the dimensions of the box I built if you need them, but no gaurantees that it will fit in the Escort, this box is in a '97 Sunfire.

Found that box dont know if its any good, its exactly what you guys said thou but would it be cheaper to build it myself cause thats like 90 bucks total...but its like 2.4 for each chamber tuned to 30hz....is that good or no?

let me know and if other designs are better and cheaper hell yeah let me know

if that box is actually the box in the pic, theres no way its 2.4 cubes per chamber tuned to 30. It is 4.86 cubes before the subs displacement, and the port displacement. The site claims that the port is 28.25" long, yet the box is only 21 deep and there is no bend in the port. I dont think they are accurately listing the specs of the box, or the picture is wrong.

^ see the eye....thats the width that i have to actually get it in there....16 inches..maybe 16.5.

but once your in the trunk you have 20 inches of clearing its just the gettin it in is the problem....and on the sides it needs to be 20 inches so it will slide in very nicely .....please any help with the old post i had...about the box ported for 2 hx2 12" subs....tuned to 30hz and with like 2.4 cubic feet perchamber...let me know

if you make it thin..i can slide it in thru the back seat but itll have to be thin..but who knows jmac...or someone or anything possible! id appreciate. Jelly also this ones for you bro!

just build your own box man it would only cost you like30 bucks for the wood,and like 10 for the other stuff, and you dont need a plan, im sure your a smart guy, just take these guy's suggestions for size and port and go for it. that one on ebay is a rip, andshipping will eat you alive if you have an online person do it. bite the bullet.
