Ported/12" TC-9/Heavy n Alternative/What works

Getting a single TC-9 12" and I listen mainly to Heavy Metal and wife like Alternative.

Thinking of ported box, but tuned right to get Best SQ and response while having the deep bass. Going to be in back of an SUV.

Was told go 2.5cuft tuned at 28Hz. Told they sound sweet then, but will that work for my type of music? Do you tuned it to the type of music you listen too, or just what Specs say?

And that'd give me deep, rich, bass?

I was actually told to go 1.0cuft sealed with half polyfil for smooth sound.

But I don't know if it'll give bass I want. Or is that what polyfill is for? I'm trying to understand and research to find out what's best for my type of music and that sub, but it's difficult. I can't find many posts about TC-9's and tried joining TC forums but have not be authorized yet by admin there.
