Port Tuning for an 18w3

It will be housing a JL Audio 18w3. I will be using it for small competetions and daily bumpin'. Thanks!

thats pretty small for an 18. you might wanna try something like 5.5 at least and tuned anywhere from 28-34. ask jl what they would recommend.

Yea I have tried asking JL's tech. support line and they wont give me an answer, and neither will my local car audio dealer, They said they dont want to give away their "tricks of the trade because thats how they make a living" quote on quote... SO you think 5.5 would be better, ok I will see what kind of designs I can come up with.

What about a port plug or a removable port for competition? any ideas or opinions on those? thanks

i wouldnt compete with a w3..5.5-6cf at 32hz should be decent. thats just in general for 18's though. most of them like around that amount of airspace.
