port to big

all right i will try that in the morrning hope fully thats the problem.i just cant stand how my cheap 12s gets louder.

Port area is NOT your problem at all. Decrease your subsonic filter by a lot. You don't need it set anywhere near 30hz. Set it more towards 17-22hz or even lower and see if that helps. Also, increase your low pass filter or disable it and see if that helps. There could also be a problem with your wiring as well.
you really need to stick this with this ^^^^

im willing to bet its a filter setting. i ran into the same issue with my first system about 5 years or so back.

lpf was set way to low, but i didnt notice it. i drove around and as like "wow, thats not loud at all. i spent all this cash for this?" had a friend come over, we messed around with the amp, adjusted some filter settings (mainly the LPF), and the change in output was huge.

btw: 61^2 of port is 110% absolutely fine. hell i usually aim for 70^2 per 15 (since most of my subs are higher excursion drivers)

yeah i turned my low pass filter up and my subsonic down to about 20 made a little differents but i guess i just had to much expectation for it.the wiring what do you mean like iv got a good grounding sanded the body then droped a screw in it. i know its getting 12.5 to the amp but i have a 1.5 volt drop on the ground could that be it.thx for everones help

your reading voltage on the ground side?

if your reading voltage on the ground side, youve got a bad ground.

Not that I should be giving any advice because I know nothing but...

When I was dissappointed with my 2 12" R's on my Hifonics BXi2006D, I read (I believe one of George's posts actually) that playing with the Phase knob might help.

Moved it up about a quarter of a turn, VAST improvement.

My apologies if my post is idiotic, hope you figure it out.

its the 1996 2 door ls. the subs are wired at 2 ohms.and i grounded the to the body so my only other bet for a better grounding is strait to the bat but i dont have unuf to get the wire yet

so let me get this straight though. when you have your dmm set to DCV and have 1 probe on the ground point on the chassis, and 1 point on the ground terminal on the amp, your dmm is reading 1.5v?

this is quite important...as your voltage is suppose to be 0 (or close to, .1 or .2 is ok) after the load. the load being your amplifer. if youve got voltage after it, youve got a problem.

yeah if i rem right it was 4 volt on the seat latches so i moved it to the body then how can i get a better ground
you got a camera? anyway you can show me how your testing for voltage?

also, i would suggest you run a full run of wire up to the negitive terminal of the batt for a dedicated ground, as the chassis doesnt seem to want to play fair.
