Port size help???

Okay, first off the subs in question are Phoenix Gold Octane ZR 10".

I contacted Rodin and asked for the recommended ported box size. They told me about 1.5 cubes per sub and 2.5" diameter by 10" long port tubes. Now my question is can i substitute a larger diameter shorter length tube?

Okay, that makes sense. How would I figure out the new port length?

btw, if you go with a 4" port the length would be 19" for 32Hz tuning in that size box. I have a box built to 1.5cuft tuned to 35Hz with a 4" aeroport and its pretty loud at peak frequency
