1) do all ports have to be made of 3/4 mdf or can it be 1/4?

2) is it possible to use 2 ports for the same enclosure? meaning, if i need a port opening that is 5x12, can i use 2 ports that are both 2.5x12?

not saying your wrong, but what difference does it make?

Unless you want your port breathing with the bass. Stick with 3/4, you could get away with 5/8. But whatever the box was tuned to goes out the door. You can use aeros, much easier to deal with.

Ok.. What I HEARD once, was that ALL surfaces of the box are dealing with equal amounts of pressure..

stick with 3/4, you dont gain that much room by going with 1/4 or 1/2"
