Port question

My is 31 x 29 x 13 with a port of 16 x 3.5 x 30 depth to get a tuning of 32hz . I'm wondering if I could widen my port to 18 x 1.5 x 30 depth and get the same tuning.

If the port area is the same i don't see why not. But i could be wrong. Someone who designs boxes could say for sure.

Download torres calc and just plug in the numbers it will do all the math for u

The first port has 56in² of area and the second has 27in². That's a drastic difference and it will affect not only the tuning, but also driver performance.

If you know you need 56in² of port area, then you need to keep that area constant when changing configurations. Just multiply height by width to find out port area.
