Port placement????

Before we start a battle, screw the Pyles anyways. I sold them for 300 in a decent box. And I didn't buy them anyways.......I was owed $30 and the guy gave me his 2 Pyles for it. Not bad, because he would have never got me the cash back.

I am currently shopping for 4 decent 18's that have a clean sound and a low power requirement. Lets stay on that topic.

with 4 18's in a wall i would i either do one port right down the middle or one across the top of the wall... you could put the port all the way on the side too.... also you will still need a lot of port. if your doing the 4 18's your box shouldnt be any smaller than 24 cubic feet. i usually do 18 sq inch of port per cubic ft. so thats over 400 sq in of port. so i would go ahead and do the 400 sq in.

btw. i dont know your budget but if your looking for cheap 18's and 4 of them , that may take you a while.. decent 18's like fi q's will still empty the average guys pocket. and thats without the amps, wires, alts, batts, etc. all the little things add up quick ! im not trying to insult you or anything, but if your budget is on the lower side i would recommend going with either 2 18's or some 15's even... im assuming your trying to be loud since you want to wall, but 2 18's are capable of doing amazing #'s.. trust me

alrigt. nvm just read some of your posts. haha. go ahead and go with somthing like 12 sq in per cubic ft..... port placement probably is your last concern. sorry for the other posts ^^^^... later

Yeah, I have no subs right now, only the 2 PR10 passed from 50-125hz under my backseat.

The 18's were an idea for a odd look. This was an idea for a project that has fallen in its tracks. I cannot find decent 18's at a reasonable price.

So, the decision has come: I will run 4 15's flushed with a 3/4 birch face. Minwax 230 Early American Stain, with probably 10 coats of PPG clear after it cures.

I am having trouble deciding on 4 budget 15's. Looking at Soundstream and Planet Audio lower lines, as well as the Memphis PR series.

My issue is that I can only run about 250-275 rms to each. I do not want a hellabad woofer that I can barely push. I want to flex them, and move some air, while still sounding clean.
