port noise

ok I have a 12" kicker L7. I built my box to spec's and I have the most port noise I've ever heard. I know this sub moves a lot but I have a slot port that is 3" wide by 13.25" long and 14.5" deep. Y the hell am I getting port noise. should I sand down my rough edges??

sand down the exiting edges of the port, see if that helps. if not... get more port area

yea i rounded off the exiting edges with a router to mine, i get no port noise with 3" tubes

have built many boxes for the L7's 8,10,12,15. never had trouble with port noise. the specs on kickers web site are dead nuts. (what type of wood are you building the box out of?)

that seem smalls....my 2 CVR's are in 30 hz and the port is 3x13.5x34...mine is twice as long as yours...and it sounds good.Unles you tuned to like 45hz?
